What are the ATENTIVmynd™ Games and how do they work?

At the core of the ATENTIVmynd™ Games are a products platform that enables users to enjoy a novel adventure story by exercising specific circuit areas of their brain that strengthens attention skills, improves impulsive behavior control and helps manage distractions. Users wear a wireless AV headset that converts and sends certain brain activity from the forehead and mastoid to any Bluetooth© enabled device (i.e., iPad, laptop, or other portable device.)

When a user wears the AV headset, the ATENTIVmynd™ Games instantly determine the user’s attention state scaled 0-100%. This attention state allows the user to control the running speed of the adventure hero/heroine by pushing out of their mind multiple distractions and focusing at higher levels of attention. The better a user maintains their attention, the faster the character can run, jump, and slide to meet their challenge task. ATENTIVmynd ™ Games respond by adjusting the difficulty of the challenge tasks,, keeping the user at a continuous level of challenge throughout each of multiple adventure missions. The repeated dynamic process of varying skill challenge tasks in multiple missions over the full adventure story builds and strengthens the circuitry in the brain responsible for the thirteen cognitive skills comprising attention control and impulse inhibition.

Is ATENTIVmynd™ Games the same as neurofeedback?

No. A neurofeedback system merely provides positive or negative information to a user (feedback) of their aggregated brain activities (not their attention circuitry) relative to a database of other user’s brain activity to indicate to the user their relative brain activity not real attention levels. The user’s experience reflects their brain activity levels of others brain activity in the immediate past.

The ATENTIVmynd™ Games use a different learning methodology, a feed forward modeling system that instantly calculates the user’s actual attention states to be used by the player to drive a hero/heroine through an adventure story while being challenged with multiple cognitive training tasks. The user is empowered to visualize desired future actions and encouraged and instructed by mentor and peer characters to meet the challenges tasks, learn new skills and move through the adventure story to conclusion. Training is entirely completed at home unsupervised.

Who is it for? Can anyone use it?

The ability to and managd attention and impulse inhibition control is crucial for everyone. ATENTIVmynd™ Games will help many people of all ages improve their performance in multiple cognitive skills and executive functioning.

My child is not in the recommended age range. Can he or she still benefit from using ATENTIVmynd™ Games?

Current applications will be available for children and adolescents ages 8-18. Additional applications will be developed for other age cohorts.

How will I know if the ATENTIVmynd™ Games are working for my child?

Performance progress reports are provided to parents at any time during the training by access to a restricted web portal. These reports make it easy for you to see how your child has improved their cognitive skills that manage inattention and impulsivity.

What will be included in the ATENTIVmynd™ Games purchase?

The single user bundle will include: 1) One download license for the selected ATENTIVmynd™ Game, 2) The AV Headset with battery charge cable and adapter, and 3) Access to the online Performance Reports.

Additional game licenses may be purchased to play with the same AV Headset. Replacement headsets may be purchased separately by a previous purchaser.

How much will ATENTIVmynd™ Games cost? What about shipping?

Single User Bundle: $ (To be announced) Includes a download license for one ATENTIVmynd™ Game, one AV™ Headset and parent performance progress reporting, with a standard handling and shipping charge within the continental United States.

What devices (i.e. laptops, tablets, etc.) are supported?

ATENTIVmynd™ Games works with your own portable tablet or computer as the game-playing device. The ATENTIVmynd™ Games require that your device supports the Low Energy Bluetooth protocol (for connecting to the headset) and has sufficient computing power to play advanced 3D games.

Can I use the ATENTIVmynd™ Games with more than one device?

Yes. A child’s game progress and preferences are automatically synced between devices.

Can I use the ATENTIVmynd™ Games without an Internet connection?

An Internet connection is required when you start a session of the game, in order for a user to sign in and sync their progress. Once the user has signed in, they can continue playing even if the connection is lost, however progress will be limited until the connection is reestablished. In addition, an Internet connection is required to access parental reports from the ATENTIVmynd™ website.

Is this an approved medical treatment?

No, this product is not meant to treat any medical illness and it is not an approved medical treatment in the US.

Are there any side effects to using the system?

A small minority of players may experience mild and temporary headaches with initial use of ATENTIVmynd™ Games. Our experience indicates that these headaches quickly resolve after game play. If your child experiences persistent headaches when using the system, please discontinue use and contact Atentiv customer support.

As reported by other video game providers and as indicated in the literature, , there is a chance that certain visual patterns in a video game may trigger seizures in players with epilepsy, so these players should consult a doctor before use. These patterns may also trigger seizures in players with no prior history of epilepsy. Players who experience seizures should cease playing immediately and consult with a doctor before further using the ATENTIVmynd™ Games.

What is Atentiv’s warranty and return policy?

Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original retail purchase. If a defect exists, Atentiv, at its option, will:

1. Repair the product at no charge using new or refurbished part
2. Exchange the product with a functional equivalent product that is new or refurbished
3. Refund the original purchase price
